Rayners Lane

Here are a few photos of the Underground station at Rayners Lane. This station is served by both Piccadilly Line and Metropolitan Line trains.

Rayners Lane, westbound platform with Piccadilly Line train
(19 August 2001)
This is the westbound platform at Rayners Lane, with the Piccadilly Line train I'd ridden to the station. I was transferring to the Metropolitan Line here to go to Uxbridge and take pictures. Note that this train is rather low in relation to the platform.

The empty Piccadilly Line train proceeding out of the station and into a layup track west of the station.

(19 August 2001)
This view looks timetable east, to the trackage where the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines converge.

And here, an eastbound Piccadilly Line train making the station stop.

A view of the eastbound platform. Many of the Underground's outlying stations have this kind of platform with a feeling of the countryside.

And here, an eastbound Metropolitan Line train. The contrast between the surface stock (the Met train) and the tube stock in the previous picture of the Piccadilly train is clear.

The Piccadilly Line train I'd ridden here on leaves the layup track for its eastbound run.
