Västra skogen station was opened on 31 August 1975.
Västra skogen, located in Solna, is the junction point for Tub3. The southern terminal at Kungsträdgården is common to both lines (10 and 11), but line 10's northern terminal is at Hjulsta, while line 11 terminates at Akalla at its northern end. The two lines diverge at Västra skogen.
The setup at Västra skogen is similar to that at Hallonbergen and Rinkeby, with northbound trains running on track 2, and southbound trains on track 4. The difference is that at Västra skogen, instead of track 3 being used primarily for depot moves, track 3 is used for southbound trains on line 10, while southbound trains on line 11 use track 4.

This is platform 4 at Västra skogen, used by southbound trains on line 11 (from
Akalla). Note the carved granite in the form of a human profile; this is a recurring
theme in the station art.

This photo shows the turnstiles in Västra skogen's only ticket hall. On the
signs overhead, Connex thanks you for riding with them.

The main escalator bank, upstairs in the ticket hall. Behind the red gate
on the left is an elevator that leads to staff lounges and other employee-only
areas upstairs.

The main escalator bank, seen from the bottom. These are the longest
escalators in the tunnelbana and, if I'm not mistaken, the longest in Sweden.

A pair of directional signs of the type Connex has been installing in many
stations in the tunnelbana. These are at the bottom of the main escalator
bank at Västra skogen. Just left of these signs, a stairway leads down to
tracks 3 and 4 (trains southbound, to Kungsträdgården).
To the right, a walkway over tracks 3 and 2 leads to platform 2 (trains
northbound).

And this is what you see on the mid-level walkway over the tracks if
you're on your way to platform 2.

Västra skogen.

This artwork is in the space between tracks 2 and 3. This view is from
track 2, looking through to track 3.

I tried to illustrate several things in this photo:
